My name is Ash, and I know firsthand what it's like to tackle those dreadful standardized tests and navigate the maze of college applications. Trust me, I've been there, done that. But guess what? It doesn't have to be as daunting as everyone says!
The best learning happens when you have the best mindset, and I’m here to help you find that groove. Whether we’re laughing over a tricky math problem or high-fiving after a practice test victory, my goal is to turn your academic journey into a series of positive and memorable experiences.
I have been a private tutor for standardized tests such as the ACT and SAT for the past 8 years. During my college years, I served as a peer mentor for various challenging courses, including General Chemistry 1 and 2, Organic Chemistry 1 and 2, Cellular Biology, Developmental Biology, and Calculus 2.
Additionally, I hold an internationally recognized certificate for teaching. Over my career, I have taught over 750 students, and almost all of my standardized test tutoring students have scored above the 90th percentile on the ACT or SAT. Personally, I have achieved scores in the 99th percentile on these exams, demonstrating my deep understanding and mastery of the material.
Education has always been a cornerstone of my life. I graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a major in Biology and a double minor in Chemistry and Spanish for the Medical Professions. Since then, I have worked with countless students, helping them conquer the ACT and SAT, craft compelling college applications, and navigate the often daunting path to higher education. I also spent time teaching abroad in Spain!
I believe every student can excel and I cherish the relationships I build with them. My goal is to make their learning journey enjoyable and positive by relating concepts to real life, making them memorable and easy to understand. Beyond boosting test scores, I aim to instill a love for learning. Building trust is my priority, and I strive to create a supportive, friendly atmosphere akin to a sociable study group where students can laugh and feel empowered to learn.
Let's face it, kids are more likely to listen to advice from someone other than their parents—even if it's the same advice. It's practically a universal law! So, don't worry, parents. You can trust me to push them in the right direction with a smile and maybe a joke or two. Plus, I’ll keep you in the loop with brief updates on their progress and our game plan. It’s like having an educational sidekick that makes learning fun!
